Colette Grand Cafe Toronto Review

I checked out Colette Grand Cafe in Toronto to see if it matches up with the reputation it has on Instagram. Is it as good as it seems online on Instagram? On Instagram, when you look up Colette, you see beautiful, bright, delicious foods with instagram-worthy backdrops and floor-drops for photos. Many bloggers and Instagramers visit the cafe to get professional looking photos without trying too hard. My friend Linda had her birthday shoot here, so it was a great chance for Esther, Linda, and I to check out how the place really looked and how the food tasted.

Upon first entering the cafe, it looked smaller than expected. However, although Colette is small, it is very roomy. I guess I expected a giant building or patio that was big enough to accommodate all photos. Smart camera work and walking around the cafe is where you find the best places to take photos. In fact, many of the photos we took were right beside and behind the Colette cafe patio. It turns out, the fencing around the patio looks bomb on camera if you angle the shots the right way.

We had some time to kill before getting food, so we took many photos before ordering. I mean- you might as well before the make up melts off your face. Am I right? I also usually never curl my hair properly because I’m lazy, but today I did because it’s a day full of photos. I’m actually so happy about how all the pictures turned out. Thanks to Lan for taking the photos for us!

The menu at Colette was simple and short. It made making decisions of what to eat significantly easier than a typical restaurant. However, the one problem was, EVERYTHING looked so good that it took quite a bit of time to decide what to eat. The problem with me and cafe foods is that I want a little bit of everything. A little bit of savoury meats, some sweets, some grains, everything. So ideally, I’d order half the menu to satisfy my cravings. But because I can’t be doing that, I ended up ordering a croissant and a honey granola yogurt. The croissant was amazing. It was crispy on the outside with just the right amount of butter and fluffy on the inside. the granola was crunchy with lots of fresh fruits on top. It was so good.

Overall, I’d totally come back here again for both the pictures and the food. Thanks for inviting me Linda!
