At the beginning of the week I came back to my room to find this: An invitation from my two friends to a boat cruise on the day of my birthday! Now on to the actual day, we went through some commuting troubles in terms of unreliable transportation services that came late. But eventually we made it!
The weather was quite cold after a series of hot summer-like days followed by plenty of rainfall. It definitely was not dress appropriate weather. I can definitely tell you guys that wearing stilettos is not the smartest idea if you’re walking through a long path of pebbles and rocks. The heels just love sticking in-between the rocks. However, we managed to salvage a decent picture in the gloomy weather before we got on the boat.
The boat was smaller than expected from the outside and inside. Unfortunately, one of my friend wasn’t able to make it to the cruise. As you can tell from my pout, I was sad she couldn’t make it because now we had an empty seat at our table.
The boat took a while to begin moving, but when it did, we rushed downstairs because that meant food.
The selection was served buffet- style. It included a caesar salad, bread and butter, pasta, and roasted chicken and vegetable skewers. My favourite part would have to be the pasta and salad. We wanted to get seconds, but the food was gone quickly. However, the mood was quickly lifted by the host who went around with bottles of Belvedere and Smirnoff, giving free shots to everyone. Birthdays girls’ tables got extras ; )
After we ate, we regained some energy and courage to venture out into the cold in our bare legs to go take photos (which I assume is the point of boat cruises).
After that, we couldn’t take the cold and decided to take shelter in the only heated room: the washroom. As you guessed it, we took plenty of shameless, low quality selfies.
When the boat finally reached land, we trekked towards the Real Sports Bar to get a few drinks and more food to satiate our appetites. Drinks are usually cheaper and easier to order without loud background music at bars, anyways. We also met up with the missing one: Min. After our meals and drinks, came a birthday brownie!
Unfortunately, I was too full to consume any of the brownie. I just quickly scooped up all the whipped cream and strawberries, and I was done with it. My guilty pleasures, yum.
After, to the club we went. We went to Aria night club. I can tell you one thing, taking nice photos at clubs are not easy.
And after that, we caught the last GO bus home and that concluded my night. A great birthday planned by my friends, indeed!
